The BBC News homepage this evening:
Two men make vaguely unamusing remarks on radio show heard by approximately ten people. Tens of thousands, despite not actually having heard said show, decide that they are offended. Apologies are made, people resign. Oh, and by the way, thousands of people have been displaced and are in imminent danger of death.
There’s nothing worse than BBC News when it feels the need to go into full on self-flagellation mode – especially given that the whole stupid thing has only come to the attention of the self-styled moral majority thanks to the corporation’s own news coverage. Next time, let’s just act like nothing ever happened and the world can continue turning without this inside-baseball crap making it onto the front page. Please?
